Dine With Us - Laravel Restaurant Ordering, QR Menu, POS & Kitchen Display

Dine With Us is a restaurant ordering system you install on your own hosting. Guests order from their phone by scanning a table QR code or opening your website. Staff handle the order from there on the orders board, the kitchen display and the point of sale.

It runs one restaurant with one or more branches. Orders, the menu and customer details stay in your own database. No monthly fees and no delivery app taking a commission on every order.

Built with Laravel 12, Livewire 3, Alpine.js and Tailwind CSS. It runs on ordinary shared hosting and does not need Redis, WebSockets, a queue worker, SSH, Composer or Node.js on the server. The web installer sets it up in about 15 minutes.

Requirements

• PHP 8.3 or newer
• PHP extensions: ctype, dom, fileinfo, json, mbstring, openssl, pdo, tokenizer, xml, zip, curl, gd (with WebP). sodium recommended
• MySQL 8, MariaDB 10.6 or newer, or SQLite
• Apache with mod_rewrite, or Nginx
• PHP memory_limit of 128 MB or more
• One cron job that runs every minute
• HTTPS (needed for online payments)
• Install on the root of a domain or subdomain, not a subfolder
• Optional: an SMTP email account, and a Stripe, PayPal or other provider account for card payments

Installation

1. Unzip the download and upload the contents of the dine-with-us folder to the root of your domain or subdomain.
2. Make storage, bootstrap/cache and database writable (755 or 775).
3. Create an empty MySQL or MariaDB database, or use SQLite.
4. Open https://your-domain.com/install and complete the 4 steps: server check, database, restaurant and first branch, owner account.
5. Add the cron job: * * * * * cd /path/to/your/site && php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1
6. Sign in, open System health and fix anything it flags.
